My role : Game Designers.

This project has been delivered to a department within one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in Scandinavia. The goal was to create a board game that makes employees own the strategies and values of the company. The game has been used throughout two sessions where more than 300 employees have played it. Project turned out as a great success with very satisfied players and client.

DEVELOPMENT

In this project I was one of the two game design students responsible for the development of the game mechanics and how the game would match the client's goals. We also delivered the assets to the printshop. Later in the project a visual designer was responsible for creating visuals for the game. We also worked with two people from the industry who arranged the meetings with the client and handled the administrative side of the project.

Quick Prototyping

Quick iterations using paper and various props.

In the early stages of the project, we used paper, LEGO, wooden stick, to replicate the systems of the game and quickly iterate on ideas and test hypotheses.

Playtesting

Testing the game throughout the development was essential in our success.

During the different iterations of the game, we organized a playtest session with friends and relatives to limit-test our mechanics and assess whether our decisions met our expectations.

Printing & Producing

Dealing with production and preparing an event.

After receiving the elements from the printshop. We organized ourselves to efficiently prepare the 35 sets of games in order to be as fast as possible on the final day.

Tutorial Video

Teaching the game through a video to prepare the players in a reliable way.

To explain the rules of the game to more than 150 people at the same time. This allowed us to keep people's attention and ensured their introduction to the game before they would open the manual.

Facilitating

The final goal of the project, facilitating the game for two groups of 150 people.

After creating, testing, producing, and preparing the game, we facilitate two sessions where employees with different backgrounds could enjoy playing around with a game based on the company's values and strategies.
